I'm new to crochet, and the project in this book are perfect for me. Right now I am still practicing stitches and learning to follow patterns and charts, but I have read through this book completely and practiced a few swatches from the patterns, and the patterns are well written, and easy to follow, but not to simple as to be boring. These are PRETTY scarves that I would be proud to wear and even prouder to give as gifts. There is a variety of styles that should satisfy most tastes. Once I am more confident I am looking forward to investing in a "luxury" yarn and getting started with this book.I am so glad to find a nice book like this to use on my Kindle, as it will never get lost or torn or ruined. I have an easel style cover for my Kindle and it is easy to prop it up and refer to it as I am working.
I think this is not only a good book for beginners, but also a good book for more experienced crocheters who want to knit for gifts or charity, and want an uncomplicated yet attractive pattern to follow.

Most of these scarves can be found online, waste of kindle space. 2 stars because there was the shawl pattern that wasn't that bad.
